They are really, really protective of their young. I had one smaller size one staring my dog down as we walked toward the front door and thought it was going to attack. As we went inside two little ones crawled out from under her. That mom was ready to fight. What I was told that if you do get into a fight with one and there are others nearby, they will all come after you.
