Went for an extra challenging walk tonight... [View all]

Composing with my 10-20mm isn't the easiest to begin with…but when I clocked that it has a 4-5 stop VR system that I can't disable, and my camera shoots well up to ISO6400, I decided to take it out for some night work. Why not add the difficulty of the light and contrast to the composition? Hard is fun! All shot at 10mm, f/4.5, ISO Auto.

Bus stop, nice that somebody biked there, but could you park it someplace more considerate?

Purely a compositional exercise on my part, but posted because I shot it at 1/4s. A quarter second. And it's still sharp enough to make an 8x10 if not a 16x20.

Fancy building entryway.

Loading dock (wide enough for 2 full trailers).

And the money shot; DC Metro canopies are lovely, they vaguely remind me of insect carapaces…and this shot is why I bought the lens. It's everything I imagined, but in my heart it's shot from a tripod for both perfect alignment and ISO100 exposure, then processed to look like Delta 100 (LOVE that film.)
