St. Vincent Cathedral, St. Malo, France [View all]

This is a cathedral that gave to blessing to Jaques Cartier, 1530ish for his voyage to discover Quebec and the St. Laurance river. Some one I learned about in my grade school history classes. There is a commemorative plaque on the floor. It started out as Roman construction and was converted to gothic. The Roman arches weren't as strong as they could have been so you can see remnants of them in the church today. We had a sunny day so we got some good side lighting inside. We also got to hear their organ while the organist was practicing.

Don't know how often the light hits the statue of Mary.

Side lighting through the stained glass.

The remnants of Roman arches.
