In reply to the discussion: What would you do? My Keurig died last week. It lasted a measly 2 1/2 years. I bought it at Costco so they'll take it [View all]FoxNewsSucks
(11,959 posts)I have a one-mug ceramic press that I use at home, and an insulated stainless steel 34 oz press that I take for work when I make coffee for myself and a couple others.
At home, I have what I should probably consider an embarrassingly-complex ritual that I go through to make myself HOT coffee, and it's sooooooo good. It is more work, and it does take longer than just pushing a button.
At work and traveling with the group, I just make the large press of coffee, dump the grinds and that's all. It's not that much more work.
A while back, I stayed a week at a place that only had a Keurig so I bought a box of K-cups from a local roaster whose beans I often buy when I'm in that city. It was a lot better than the starbucks and Folgers cups provided, but not even close to as good as the exact same coffee made in a french press.
