22. Triggered my instinctual fear for sure

Something deep and ancient. In the firmware of our brains.

I grew up a family full of biologists and healthcare professionals. Did 4H, did Safe Food Handling certification, grad level bio in college, worked for Red Cross, love science, biology and ecology. Trust science. Got advice yesterday from posters here and from experts in Vermont. Basically "Open the door. Let it leave." It did.

On a conscious level I was studying and assisting (by doing almost nothing) this helpless, likely juvenile, bat that was lost or exhausted. But coming from a subconscious level into consciousness was vague and general fear.
