3. I love Peter Schickele and PDQ Bach.

I was in a music fraternity in college and we discovered PDQ Bach and had great fun with the music and the jokes in the music. Especially a for a bunch of music majors.

Schickele came to town at some point to do a show with the local symphony. I, of course, had to go.
The concert was in the elegant Orpheum. The start time came and the start time went. The orchestra was sitting on the stage looking around and checking their watches.

Finally, someone came out and stood by the stand mic and said that he was sorry but Prof. Schickele hadn't arrived and they didn't know where he was. He said Schickele was last seen at a local bar but they didn't know where he was now and they were going to have to cancel the performance. The house lights started to come up and the audience started to get out of their seats.

Suddenly, in the rear of the theater a booming voice yells: "I'm here!' And Schickele comes running down the center aisle and grabs a rope that had been dropped from the overhead grid earlier, swings like Tarzan from the audience up to the stage.
Quite an opening.

I still have this hilarious "biography." As you can see it's been well read.

Check out the writers of the blurbs on the back LOL
There's still an LP around here somewhere too.

It's nice that PDQ Bach is still being performed.

Alas, Peter Schickele is no longer with us.
