Yesterday

That famous jazz progenitor, the Spanish 12-bar blues.

That's almost as funny as the scene in The Benny Goodman Story when a 16-year-old Benny hears jazz for the first time on a Mississippi riverboat.

He asks Kid Ory how you play that music, to which he replies, "you just play the way you feel". And wouldn't you know it, the first time Benny Goodman tries to play jazz, he sounds just like Benny Goodman!
