(4,578 posts)24. Set the "Do not Disturb" schedule on a per day basis
Apple has that setting, don't know if android does.
Do not disturb has the side effect of no longer showing new message dots on the app icon, so you might miss some, because that notification is silenced too.
I use DND as well as mute to prevent interruptions at all sorts of times.

I take mine, plus I have a work phone I need nearby for when I am on call for work.

I keep my phone on a stand next to the bed at night along with a Chromebook PC, TV remote and glasses...

If i want to sleep late, I leave it out of my room. If I need to get up, I set the alarm and put it next to my bed

I have a land line, so I don't need to keep my cell phone in my bedroom. I leave it in the living room.

I should think that having some kind of communication device in your bedroom is essential.

I do, too, for the same reasons. I have emergency alerts on but I silence the ringer

On my nightstand or on the bed. I don't have a landline, I need to know if someone in the family has an emergency.

I had 3 cell phones before I just gave up. But I'm old and near a land line phone all the time in my retirement

I use the alarm clock six days/week, so it goes on the bedside table, within reach.
