But any food waste at all was extremely frowned upon in my Mother's family. Finally she just started making lima beans with tomatoes, onions, and peppers, and spices. That was much better, but it seems like when she got us to eat that, we went back to pinto beans.

I taught a whole group of daycare kids to love lima beans. I called them baby beans and doled them out as treats.
