Yeah, that's enough 'excitement' for one day [View all]

It’s just a usual Monday in rush hour traffic - slow and all, not thinking anything. So, I put the brakes on, and the next thing I know, I’m screaming and freaking out as I’ve been rear ended. I drive by and I see elderly people get out and of course, the negative stereotypes about old people driving pop into my head. For safety reasons, I pull into a parking lot and talk to the elderly folks.

They inform me they were merely the middle car in a three-car accident. It’s a young kid, no older than early twenties. I had to get my tail light and bumper taped until I have to take it into the shop. I will file a claim with the at-fault driver’s company tomorrow.

I Google the driver at fault, turns out they were cited back in November for failing to yield a left turn or to slow down for an emergency vehicle, yet that’s not all.

It turns out this is one of 10 siblings born to parents who were accused previously of keeping one of their children in a cage and denying them food and water. They apparently pled guilty and in exchange got two years probation in exchange and their charges dropped. My girlfriend went to school with his mom and apparently the father was actually his mom’s adoptive father before they married.

So yeah, here I thought I lived a dysfunctional life. The kid is absolutely to blame in the accident, though I do question how well he was taught by his parents.

I have no physical injuries, can’t say I’ve had the greatest day psychologically speaking.
