(10,829 posts)Man, I must thank you for that statement. I have not laughed like that for a long time.
Just so you know...
I did not used to be 'negative', other than bouts of severe depression. I was one of those that would say, "How can we do it?" as opposed to "Well, we can't do it." I used to be the first person to stop at an accident. I used to be the first person to help the other across the street. I used to help the child find their parent.
But, now...
I am a product of our society and its desire to put riches over humans. I am the result of being treated like a second class citizen solely because of who and what I am, not to mention my refusal to play their games. I am the result of a society that would rather close ranks than allow something that might seem a bit odd to them any chance at survival and achievement whatsoever.
I am the result of modern America. One that should remind us all that not everyone gets to have the life they wanted, nor the one they needed. Some of us are born just to be whipping posts and stepping stones. We didn't ask for that distinction, but that was the outcome.
Sometimes we deserve it. The majority of the time, we do not.
My negativity is the direct result of our society's opinion of myself, my life, and my beliefs. My desire to make sure that everyone knows it is what makes some people feel that I am too negative. Mainly because my truth seems to contradict theirs, even though mine is based in reality. And the reality is that some people will never become what they want, and it is usually because of the biases created by the rich so that we will obey their will, not follow ours.
So be it. I still stand by the idea that people need to understand what is going on. The press and the powers that be are not going to, because they prefer things this way.
I am glad that some here had the life they wanted. I am glad that some here found a life even it was not the one that they wanted.
For some of us, none of that happened, or it was purposefully sabotaged by others for whatever reason.
In some cases, it was both. Of course, no one cares. Here we only acknowledge 'success' (as defined by those same rich people). If you don't meet that criteria, then you are a waste of skin.
So, guess what I am (according to those that could do something about this)?
