I've lived here on and off since 2001. I'm Canadian, my wife is American, and life's path just brought us here. I've always said to both my Canadian and American friends/family, that if a Canadian would be the most comfortable, it would be here.
Sorry other places. Just my feelings.
And it doesn't hurt that we rent a very comfortable little house, not too big at all, super cozy with an expansive 200 degree view from Kent - Seattle. We get a ton of spectacular sunsets!
