Anyone have experience with 55+ communities? [View all]

We’re at the point where it’s getting hard for me to be mobile. Arthritis and other things. So we’re looking for a single story place, not so easy to come by here in the Seattle area.

We looked at a place in an upscale retirement community and I’m so conflicted! It’s individual homes only, no assisted living or nursing. Active, ACTIVE people. Golf, pool, gym, spa…things I keep wanting to do anyway but it’s bloody hard these days.

It’s 18 and up with primary owner over 55 and lots of grandkid available activities.

Of course I worry about prejudicial things like political fights, high school clique atmosphere, yaddayadda, but I guess you can stay out of that.

I’d love to hear if people have input or ideas. It’s not a fire situation but man, I’m sick of stairs seeming like mountains!
