Since it was a folk festival, the festival’s organizers were angry that Dylan insisted on playing an electric guitar during his set. They wanted the sound turned down or off. Pete Seger thought about taking a sledgehammer to the sound board to make it stop, but was dissuaded by his wife Yoshi and orders from Dylan’s people that the sound not be altered. Joan Baez was angry with him too, or so the movie portrays it. I don’t have any real behind the scenes knowledge.
