Inherited the love of flops from my Mom. She wore them as house shoes and moved quickly, so the sound of her flip-flip-flip-flipping is a big part of my childhood memories. I picked up the habit and would buy ten pair of the $1 black ones from Walmart each spring. They lasted all year. The fancy, expensive ones are too heavy.
Anyhooo
my last pair (these ones were from Walgreens) blew out about four months ago. Walmart doesnt carry my favorite flops any longer and Walgreens didnt have any left in stock. Tried a few on at the dollar store and they sucked. Was making due with some Croc flops but, after the septic tank flood in the basement, they are now confined to the basement and outside. Theyve been disinfected several times but Im just not comfortable wearing them on the bedroom rug now.
So, my current house shoe is a pair of rubber birkenstock sandal knock-offs. It took longer than expected to adjust (I wear Birkenstock clogs in every non-flop situation and have for a couple of decades), but Im finally happy with them. Will be happier when I find the perfect flops again.
