7. So much mealy-mouthed phrasing from people acting as if they have no agency

If he thinks Trump "occasionally" sees Congress as an appendage, it's Congress's job to show him they are an equal branch with power and agency.

These people are so cowed and self-serving.

Imho the primary loyalty for any politician is preservation and protection of the Constitutional order. That means maintaining robust internal checks and balances and also highlighting our right as individuals to be free from governmental harassment.

The next loyalty is to the people that these politicians serve. It's a close second, but you cannot advocate a course of action that benefits people if it violates the Constitution.

There are no other loyalties. Rather, there shouldn't be any, but too many of our current crop of politicians are loyal to party and self and nothing else.
