2. I don't think they will all "go away."

But their false prophecies and their ability to use political power to be an influence will be curtailed. The numbers will drop. There will be some reform which will change the landscape, create new groupings or restructure old ones into the practice of Christian faith as it was intended, as a lifestyle and an influence for peace, humility, human equality, a general sense of responsibility for the good of all of society. Hopefully that translates into using the wealth of the church to promote the common good, influencing for things like using government to take care of the elderly, provide universal health care, and promote peace.
