From a brief skim of what they are saying administrators not scientists would be cut back. Also both the Forest Service and BLM have shifted back and forth with administrations. Salt Lake with world renowned skiing rock and ice climbing hiking etc literally minutes from down town I would think Salt Lake to be far more of a draw for the type of employee who spends time in forests than DC.

I follow issues conservation much less than I used to, and I'm sorry to say I don't read much at The Smokey Wire anymore, but it's a great resource administered by one of the earliest women to make it to the top echelons of the FS.
