and who then (as I recall) blamed the bankruptcies on the managers. Managers who had unfortunately perished together in a helicopter crash.

Seem to recall he also bankrupted another one on a riverboat. Not sure if can trust my memory on that though.

If true, then no Bret Maverick he. Even less so, as recall Maverick (and his brother) as Rogues with Hearts of Gold. Long time ago though, those memories.
