They’ve always been cringe.

I’ll never forget or forgive those revolting wastes of defective human protoplasm who wore “purple heart” Band-Aids at the 2004 GOP Convention to mock John Kerry’s service in Vietnam. He was running to unseat yet another repuke who used his family’s wealth and power to dodge service in the war.

It’s like their whole mentality has always been “what filthy, disgusting thing can I do to my fellow human beings today?”
