I don’t get not giving a shit. I am so worried about unintended consequences. How can you have stuff like that : a) on your conscience and b) expect to escape consequences.

No one escapes consequences in the end. There are essentially decent and rational reasons for all of us non-martyr type humans.

You cannot just gather tonnes of shitty surveillance data and think “Gee I could restructure society and do a better job!”
With all its flaws society exists a certain way with some working and some non working parts.

I have lived with this loathesome shit “move fast and break shit” for 14+ years and these guys don’t give a shit what they break and they teach people the world over to do the same.

I am sort of morally average - I have good intentions and mean well. But in execution I have failed completely and been a huge nuisance in the past to the better people while being shoved around by this type.

Well, only the same type but Google and Facebook and probably conservadem more than outright Republican, but who the hell knows..it is all so opaque. Google certainly..Probably also Facebook, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, Tata, Reliance (the worst of the worst) and small creepy defense contractors..I will find out.
This totally creepy, MIT Media Lab (garbage pseudoscience and Epstein associated) huckster called Alex Pentland made India’s digital id program and seems so substandard. This rollout I have seen, it will need to be aborted with new strict standards, not just whatever these guys want.

Cascading security and other issues for the greed of these guys. This isn’t GDP growth beyond the bare essential utilities. This is a space grab and here in India I will file a court case. I don’t know how. But if people get that it will devastate any honest take on the Indian middleclass and not a sweatshop started in the US with pseudoscience with no concern for ecological sciences, the web of life snd the earth sciences. Totally creepy.

And I have an intuition that this fucked up thing works so people abuse those who are in “their team” more than the other calculating that you can get away with that better.

I really don’t get the enthusiasm for China in some parts of the left..At least the US and India are more incompetent in their attempts to pull off that shit..China is smoothly muscular that way and no..no way. When people do not understand stuff (and who the hell has the expertise for this), limpid trust in these fucking sleazebags to sit around wideeyed “learning” obediently for these twats’ douchebag ai?
