Or that is the only source of hope at this point. If the rest can be deradicalized, things may get better.

Deradicalization is what will be needed. Talk people down to more moderate positions by acknowledging univerally annoying or stupid human behaviors (especially online).

Appeasement is a cancer, but deradicalization I understand. These are clearly what are known as thought terminating cliches as they are processed by these guys.
