Been his m.o. since forever.

In the debate he claimed inflation was the worst it's ever been. Blatantly and obviously false and easily shown to be false, not even close. Inflation was far higher in the '70s thanks to Nixon/ford mismanagement and the 1973 oil shocks. Republicans used to know this. Of course, they blamed Carter, who did far more to fix the problem than cause it, but that's another story.

Point is, one of his main rhetorical tricks is to shamelessly assert whatever he wishes was the truth as if it was the truth.

Where most people might say "I wish I was a billionaire", Donnie simply claims "I am a billionaire" while refusing to let anyone look at his finances. Or he says he was the greatest president or Biden was is the worst or Mexico is sending rapists or there's a problem with Obama's birth certificate or whatever. He just says his wishes as if they were facts.

So, nobody ever leaves his rallies.

Yeah.

He wishes.
