In reply to the discussion: De Beers to Shutter South African Diamond Mine to Save Cash [View all]electric_blue68
(28,203 posts)37. Nice! Oooo, crystals! ....
I don't have chains, or findings right now.
I have some turquoise beads, small half pearls, small bit of some other semi-precious stones.
I work w silver plated wire or brass wif different gauges and make my own quite unique wire jewelry sometimes w above items. When I had money I had sterling silver wire. I started with that in my early 30s.
Previously, I did a fair amount of bead stringing, but it became too expensive w wanting to use more semi-precious stones, and not just glass beads w intermittent semi-precious pieces. Partly bc my extra monies were competing w concert going, and other stuff.
You should have a crafting party, when you find the time get you all together! It's be fun!
What kind of pins did you make?

I have a lab-grown diamond, too. It's beautiful. No need to every buy a new diamond.

Diamonds are not and never were rare. They just did a super amazing job of marketing.
