8. In my experience German companies do try to retain workers

Rather than the typical hiring boom/bust cycles American companies typically go through.

Honestly if we’re seeing a fall in global auto sales, that’s a good thing. That means less waste and less pollution. Quality has mostly gone up among most automakers. Of course the price of new cars is through the roof and in inflationary environments people are likely to try to keep their existing car running rather than splurge on a relative luxury like a new car.

I think another reason is the Chinese are increasingly looking to buy domestic now anyways, and they have good choices too (both EV and ICE).
