Yes, Europeans are boosting their military budgets, but there is a difference between now and 100 years ago.

Working on the legacy of NATO and the EU, Europe now attempts to solve their internal differences through negotiation. Talking, not shooting. Their rearmament is now focused on outside threats to the group, not internal rifts. Their manufacturing standards have been standardized across the continent and their militaries have been integrated to work together seamlessly.

While the US maintains a tenuous membership in NATO it is more and more becoming a side show, an afterthought to Europeans working in their own defense.

Europeans fighting amonst themselves is one of the least of our worries. In fact, we are becoming one of the external threats the Eurpopeans are planning against.
