in as many as 4 different veins--and if temp is too high and not coming down quickly, ice water enemas and potentially ice water gastric lavage--at which point cardiac arrest is common. At a hospital like George Washington, if they are fortunate to get a return to a (fairly) normal cardiac rhythm, they may well be worried about any number of things and, given the abilities there, might well put them on ECMO (advanced life support that takes the place of the heart and lungs for an indefinite amount of time, allowing injured organs to rest and recover). And that is if they don't develop an extremely serious clotting dysfunction known as DIC (disseminated intravascular coagulation-- which veterinarians darkly refer to as "dead in cage." I always found that to be an apt designation). If they recover, they may well have irreversible brain damage and/or some degree of multiple organ failure.
All to see "his highness, the King Trump" on this day and tomorrow in honor of our having supposedly "gotten rid of the monarchy" to create this country.
Worth it? I'd dare say not.
