Yesterday

in Chicago in 1995….the maximum heat index of the 5 days was 119°…..it was unreal and the majority of the deaths were the elderly poor. They had refrigerated trucks used as makeshift morgues

It’s pretty hot today, our heat index at the moment is 110 and my lone window air conditioner is chugging away…hope they’re doing a better job at keeping everybody safe
