In twenty-eight years in the Army, I learned that a nonpolitical promotion system is essential to the proper operation of the military.

There are twenty-six Democrats on the House Armed Services Committee and twelve Democrats and one independent on the Senate Armed Services Committee. Surely, one of them has the time to say something about this abuse.

At a minimum, Hegseth should be called to testify before the Senate Committee before any vote for Senate confirmation of the list.
