..,that his sense of humor is always at others' expense. This is just another example of humor that is belittling of others and self aggrandizing.

He does have a natural charisma (you don't become a TV host without it), and knows how to work a room (when he's not trying to stick to a teleprompter with text he can neither properly read nor understand).

The headline was clickbait (as raw story can do), he's not even "seriously" mocking them... he's joking with them and they're eating it up. (Honestly, I wouldn't even call this "news," late breaking or otherwise!)
