It was going to be close to 250.00 a month. I am 70, but really healthy. No hospitalizations since childbirth 40 years ago, only one script med- a statin which I take 3 days a week. I walk, ride a bike and lift weights. I go to the doctor twice a year for check-up. So for me... it just wasn't worth it. I did switch to a Medicare Advantage plan- HealthSpring- they actually pay 185.00 of my medicare premium. I know all the issues with MA plans-- I am a retired RN who worked with Medicaid/Medicare members in the community (disabled/and or elderly) for the last 15 years of my working life. So right now for me, the MA plan is the way to go.

For profit healthcare in the USA really sucks. For everyone.
