Trump Brags That Tim Cook Would 'Kiss My Ass' as the Apple CEO Steps Aside [View all]

President Donald Trump praised Tim Cook in a Tuesday morning post on Truth Social. Trump had very nice things to say about the Apple CEO, who announced on Monday that he’ll be stepping down from the role, but will stay on in a new position that includes “engaging with policymakers.” But Trump also couldn’t stop himself from talking about how Cook was kissing his ass during his tenure leading the Cupertino giant.

“When I got the call I said, wow, it’s Tim Apple (Cook!) calling, how big is that? I was very impressed with myself to have the head of Apple calling to ‘kiss my ass,'” Trump wrote Tuesday.

“He makes these calls to me, I help him out (but not always, because he will, on occasion, be too aggressive in his ask!), and he gets the job done, QUICKLY, without a dime being given to those very expensive (millions of dollars!) consultants around town who sometimes get it done, and sometimes don’t,” wrote Trump.

Cook is stepping aside as CEO to be replaced by senior vice president of hardware engineering John Ternus. But Cook is still going to be working on government relations, something he excelled at by buttering up President Trump with a gold plaque and attending First Lady Melania Trump’s documentary premiere. Apple told 9to5Mac: “As executive chairman, Cook will assist with certain aspects of the company, including engaging with policymakers around the world.”

The article goes on to say Cook "got heat for cozying up to the fascists" and history will probably judge him harshly.

Elon Musk suspended journalist Gil Duran's X account for referring to Palantir's manifesto the other day as fascist. Musk probably won't like what Gizmodo.wrote here, but I don't know if he'll do anything unless a Gizmodo post on X calls Trump a fascist.
