20. UAE could do everyone a solid and get the US military engineers to help them build the Dubai Canal

Run it straight through the peninsula north of Oman, or get Oman's cooperation and run it further south. Then let other countries and corporations pay to send shipping through it. As a strategic resolution to the Hormuz situation, it could become a target for Iran, but I still think it'd be a better use of everyone's resources.
