A growing wave of opposition is forming across Hollywood as the proposed Paramount Skydance acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery faces new scrutiny, not just from regulators but from the creative community itself.

More than 1,000 actors, writers, directors and industry professionals have signed an open letter voicing what they describe as “unequivocal opposition” to the deal, which is valued at roughly $110 billion and would combine two of the industry’s most historic studios.

The letter, which has circulated widely in recent days, frames the merger as part of a broader trend of consolidation that many in Hollywood believe is already shrinking opportunities.
