(17,542 posts)The question is how many of us they will take down with us.
This is Troy Farah..Troy Farah. I know exactly what Troy Farah thinks because he is a decent guy - he is a milennial and I am not.
So what he is getting at here..we are in a sort of. Well I hope not a Cuban Missile Crisis situation.
But I do look at the left - people like Troy Farah and Yasha Levine to figure out how bad it could get for all of us.
I am not very moderate in material ways in this right shifted reality. So I try to dial the temperature down pragmatically wherever one can without sacrificing or diluting much.
And I do not understand mob dynamics enough to easily parse media crafted for large audiences with some confusing ai/algorithmically driven personalization:

There are many of things wrong with this idea, but Musk has actually promoted it: A large solar-powered AI satellite constellation would be able to prevent global warming by making tiny adjustments in how much solar energy reached Earth he wrote on X last November.
Musk doesnt just control SpaceX, but also owns its subsidiary Starlink, the worlds largest satellite company, which boasts constellations of 10,000 small satellites and counting. As Salon has reported before, these things can appear extremely bright in the night sky, vexing astronomers and essentially censoring the stars. Musk has also been accused of weaponizing Starlink in war zones, including Ukraine. But if any company can do something as weird as blocking the suns rays to chill our planet, like a B-list Marvel villain, Starlink and SpaceX may be the only ones with the infrastructure to do it.
If you are unfamiliar with Troy, he is one of the most left leaning mainstream writers out there. But he doed take climate change, correctly, seriously unlike much of society. So I was frowning over that piece.
