... when I hear this malicious imbecile use "woke" as a pejorative.
From Merriam Webster:

[To be] aware of, and actively attentive to, important societal facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice)

If someone you know expresses disdain for that honorable sentiment, back away slowly and leave. Do NOT shake hands with them if you haven't had the shots. They are poisonous, and undeserving of your company.
