I suppose there was a "religious" issue, wrapped up in the racial issue? Or maybe it was racial and gender related. They had to actively investigate to see if she owned anything else. No... I agree with Sotomayor... this goes beyond the broad immunity. We HAVE to start putting our feet down to these types of things. No more religious exemptions for doctors and pharmacists... for postal carriers, for county clerks, and who know who else? Wrong skin color? Sorry... you don't get citizen services. Wrong gender? Sorry... you don't get citizen services. Wrong religion? Sorry... you don't get citizen services.

It never stops... there's always another excuse waiting in the wings. This country, as it is now, will never be satisfied until the only people on its soil are white, christianist males. The rest of us can go to hell, for all they care.
