1. I remember in the 80's,

when I first became a registered nurse, hospitals beginning the transition from being run by doctors to being run by administrators whose only health care experience was complaining about the hospital decor when they visited their relatives in the hospital for plastic surgery.
"If you can run a McDonald's, you can run a hospital" was the mantra. And hospitals, and the entire "health" care system became an exercise in wealth extraction.
The current regime is the ultimate expression of that pathological and metastatic philosophy.
