Declaring that mercy he should show the oldest.

Was sentenced when verdicts came down.
Trump claimed with a roar
She was punished for more
Than deeds meant to keep “fraud” from the crown.

He blasted in capital letters,
That Dems were the cruelest of setters.
He said she was frail,
Too long kept in jail,
And called for the freeing of Peters.

But Colorado’s officials all say,
“No president’s sway holds here, nay.”
Since the crimes were the state’s,
Only Polis dictates
If her sentence might shorten someday.

So the feud, as reported, runs hot,
