(12,977 posts)18. Are recommendations gone completely?
For most purposes, I won't miss them -- but there are always a few threads which present a really interesting news item or editorial and get lots of recommendations but little or no discussion. Those are often the most intellectual and analytical pieces, and I'd hate to miss them because everybody is too awestruck by their brilliance to have much to add.

I strongly agree, it will allow us to be more civil to keep it the way it is.

I think we have all done that. I'd vote for the self-delete feature, but not sure about

Maybe distinguish between editing to correct typos & syntax, and editing to change the tone?

Not just potentially embarrassing, but it could also clutter up replies/threads terribly.

I love everything I'm seeing so far but a special thank you for changing the edit time.

You've obviously put a lot of thought into this, but there are still some rough edges.

Looking good... but where the hell are the over-sized fonts, rounded corners and unneeded AJAX stuf?

Great! Have you thought about adding Twitter, Facebook, Stumbleupon, Digg, Delicious, etc, buttons?

How bout a DU button on other sites, so you could "DU" something, similar to facebook "Like"?

Just a thought on CSS... Line Height seems a bit cramped, at least for these old eyes. :) - n/t
