ME-SEN: Troy Jackson Defends Record Amid Maine Senate Race Controversies [View all]

Democratic politician Troy Jackson addressed public criticism regarding his past legislative record and his previous endorsement of former candidate Graham Platner during a television interview on Thursday, as reported by Yahoo.

Jackson filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission to potentially replace Platner as the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate after Platner dropped out of the race on Wednesday. The political shift prompted scrutiny from independent voters and media members over Jackson's shifting stances and political associations.

During an MS NOW interview, host Katy Tur confronted Jackson with video footage of an independent voter who expressed a preference for Republican Sen. Susan Collins over him due to his historical opposition to progressive issues.

"Troy Jackson is not progressive. He voted against so many bad things, like gay marriage, abortion. He did that and now wants to say he's progressive." stated independent voter Brent Hawkes.
