(19 posts)While there are a foundation of unquestionable dogmas and assumptions to faithfully abide by, the process of defending the deposit of faith and discerning the context in which dogmas apply and their parameters is a Philosophical exercise for example we are told in Christianity murder is a sin but what about self defense or capital punishment? Philosophy is how we understand God's will and the meaning of sacred scripture deeply and correctly. Religion is inseparable from the discipline of philosophy, no program that lets people get a philosophy degree without taking classes on world religions should be accredited because that's how fundamentally relevant these disciplines are.
While not all philosophers are religious, all religions began as and are philosophies.
While philosophy lets us question if God is real and religions do not, many religions have unresolved mysteries and are pioneers in Philosophical reasoning as to the nature of God and what is true and false in regards to the one true religion and truth as a common aspect between religions.
My problem with the liberals is they default to tolerance and egalitarianism instead of letting us have these discussions and debates. They say "respect all religions" instead of "talk through your differences and may the truth and best ideas win".
Although many philosophers tried to discredit God I consider them ignorant and stupid.
