4. Scooping the algae out until

the excess nutrients (from the Potomac river water they filled it with) are depleted is what will work. Somebody must have finally clued them in. Algae growth will be minimal after the excess is removed.

But I do wonder why the ducks are avoiding it. Chemicals? too much activity? Feet entangled in filaments?
