Very soon, if not now, the leading world power will be or is China.

Their economy is growing. They are organized enough to respond to threats rapidly - like when they built hospitals in two weeks at the beginning of covid. They are rapidly adapting to the world of climate change.

They have faults. I wish they would free TIbet and leave Taiwan alone. But at least they confine their power grabs to contiguous neighbors.

The US tried to emulate the British Empire ("the sun never sets&quot , with imperial military all over the globe. All this did was impoverish our population. And make global enemies.

We need to face reality and cope with this new world. If we withdraw from empire gracefully, we can still have a good life and be secure. Especially if we can take our wealth and power back from the tribillionaires.
