So they can’t have Trump out there saying that Iran committed to not having nukes. Their political stance is to maintain the specter of nuclear annihilation from Iran. It’s basically the same issue as they had with the Obama deal, except much worse because Iran gets a lot more money.

Israel should have known that this was a likely outcome. Trump is a bully and has no appetite for actual combat, especially if it creates political pressure where he can be blamed. He also is self-interested in claiming to make a deal. So he would take any deal to be able to claim he accomplished something.
