Actually doing something about it is yet another thing altogether. Actions like this were not just thought up last weekend on a whim.

If the instigators are traced to the Kremlin, or the mosques of Qom or even Dearborn, what then? No one is going to carpet bomb any of those places. It will take time, a LOT of effort, and some VERY covert operations to get at the root of these actions without causing major disruptions where we as a nation cannot afford to have any, especially now. This calls for some seriously fine-tuned, well-planned action--something for which the current American administration is not exactly well-known.
