Trump has gotten away with many, many things that would have previously be inconceivable. He has broken the law. He has scoffed at the courts.

The states have occasionally prevailed against his diktats in the courts. And, nearly every time his depredations have reached the Supreme Court, he has prevailed.

Pretending that the question here is "Is Trump omnipotent?" is fatuous.

He need not be omnipotent. He needs merely to win more times than he loses.

And, regardless of the happy talk in which some would like to indulge, he's doing that.

Again: Your ridiculous question is, "Is Trump omnipotent?"

The real question is, "Can Trump find ways to render the Constitution inoperative?"

The answer to the first of those questions (as the poster to whom I'm replying knows) is: "Of course Trump is not omnipotent. No one has ever said he is, so why are you even asking the question?"

The answer to the second is, "It sure likes like it. He's taken a number of steps in that direction and gotten support from the Supremes."
