In reply to the discussion: She would not have bombed Iran. [View all]ShazzieB
(23,042 posts)17. I've heard some of them try to explain it, and it's almost always variations on the same fallacious themes.
1. The "She slept her way to the top" theme.
This is a favorite, because those ass monkeys can't imagine any other way a mere woman could possibly rise to a position of power.
2. The"racial confusion" theme
"She can't make up her mind whether she's black", "she says she's black, but she's really not", "how come she claimed to be black all of a sudden," etc.
And one of my all-time favorites: "She says she's Asian, but she doesn't look Asian," (from people who assume Asia = east Asia, because they don't know Asia is a HUGE continent that includes all kinds of people, including 1.47 billion Indians).
The irony here is that they don't like her is because she's not white, but they can't bring themselves to admit that, so they make up all kinds of other excuses that touch on race.
3. The "open borders" theme
"She wants open borders," "she let in too many 'illegal aliens' when she was border czar (which she never was, but they remember firmly convinced that she was)," etc.
This is the closest most of them come to naming an actual policy of hers that they disagree with. Like the first 2 themes, it has little to do with any actual facts. Trump has been hammering on the idea of 'illegal aliens' pouring across the border and ruining the country since he announced his candidacy in 2015. With no actual evidence, they believed him then and have continued to do so ever since, even as his rhetoric on the subject has become more and more untethered to reality.
If all of the above sounds like a bunch of excuses, congratulations, you're absolutely right! The bottom line is that Trumps supporters just don't like anyone who opposes Trump. They are unwilling to consider any opposing candidate with an even partially open mind and eager to latch onto any excuse to assume the worst about anyone who runs against him.

A bit like how terrorist groups use deaths of their own people for propaganda, worth it for leaders of worthless cause.
