I'm just an old, retired engineer that had to write hundreds of field service reports the old-fashioned way and that still has my original Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary from 1965 in my desk.

First, it was hand-written reports that got typed by some hard-working secretaries. Copies came from carbon paper. Next, in the early 90s, there came simple DOS computers and dot-matrix printers that made life so much simpler. Then word processors, spell-checkers and laser printers soon came along.

My last reports were written on a Windows computer and were often sent to customers by email.
