A predator who prays? Women claim sexual abuse by chaplain at Pa. ICE facility [View all]

Two female detainees at the Moshannon Valley Processing Center have filed sexual assault complaints against the facility’s chaplain, Mark Melhorn, who is still working at the facility among more than 1,500-detainees.

Both women are alleging harassment, grooming and sexual assault at the hands of the chaplain. One allegation was filed through a civil lawsuit and another through an official complaint filed with Moshannon under the Prison Rape Elimination Act.

They claim Melhorn made inappropriate comments and positioned himself uncomfortably close to them before ultimately sexually assaulting them.

He is the only chaplain employed there.
